The LG Viewty is a trendy touch screen phone that comes equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera. The gadget has the dimensions of 103 x 55.4 x 14.8 and weighs around 112 grams. On the other hand, the LG GC900 Viewty Smart Black is also a touch screen phone which comes embedded with a 8 mega pixel camera and supports technologies like 3G, EDGE, GPRS and WLAN Wi-Fi.

To make a comparison between LG Viewty versus LG GC900 Viewty Smart Black is not an easy task because the features and functions of both the phones are different to some extent. Apart from the differences, they have huge similarities. The features like music player, FM radio, TV out, 3G HSDPA, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB are present in both the handsets. But on closer inspection, one can find some minute differences between the two gadgets.

The LG GC900 phone is an elegant phone that comes in the dimensions of 108.8 x 55.8 x 12.4 and it weight is measured around 190 grams and on the other hand, with the weight of only 112 grams, the LG Viewty is an extremely light weight gadget that comes in the dimensions of 103 x 55.4 x 14.8 mm. The LG Viewty and LG GC900 Viewty Smart Black come embedded with splendid connectivity features like 3G HSDPA, GPRS, and EDGE. However, the former model does not support Wi-Fi technology whereas WLAN Wi-Fi technology is present in the latter one. Both the handsets have Bluetooth and USB technology that allow the owners to connect to the other compatible devices through wired connection as well as wirelessly. There is nothing much of a difference between the two gadgets in terms of entertainment features. Both these gadgets come embedded with an integrated music players that support almost all popular music formats which include MP3, AAC and WMV.

Furthermore, the LG Viewty has an impressive 5 mega pixel camera that comes equipped with the features like xenon flash, auto focus, digital zoom and image stabiliser whereas the quality of picture taken from the LG GC900 Viewty Smart Black is much better than the other model being compared because it has a 8 mega pixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach optic that produces digital quality pictures.

The users can enjoy worldwide roaming through this phone as it supports Quad Band technology. On the other hand, LG Viewty phone works on Tri Band network. The battery backup of this phone is immense as its fully charged battery delivers the standby time of up to 434 hours and talk time of around 4 hours whereas the rechargeable battery of the GC900 model gives the standby time of up to 330 hours and talk time of up to 5.5 hours from a fully charged condition. At last it can be said conclusively that the LG Viewty and LG GC900 Viewty Smart Black are amazing phones which come packed with exciting features and designs.

Music: Never Rests, Never Stops, Never Sleeps by Misty’s Big Adventure. It’s the second time I’ve used it for one of these… I’m a big fan of theirs. For what it’s worth, I’m touring the UK with a stand up show in August/September 2009 and I’m doing it by bike. Not that the show is about the journey… it isn’t. I’m also now doing a non-cycling tour extension early next year that allows me to reach cities not on the original route. More details for this (and everything else I do) on www.davegorman.com After Saturday’s ride, we decided to return to pick blackberries. I only filmed it because it was easier to keep the camera mounted on the helmet than remove it after testing it the day before. Sort of glad I did. The tumble looks far less dramatic than it felt at the time. I broke my fall with my hands. It was that or my chin. Gloves are torn up a bit – good job I was wearing them. I was wearing a helmet – it wasn’t pressed into use. I didn’t have the full range of movement in my thumbs yesterday as the heels on both palms swelled up… but a quick visit to A&E confirmed no broken bones. Just bruised hands. And pride. I have a more serious bike which I wasn’t riding so at least I wasn’t clipped into the pedals. Not that I think it would have made a great deal of difference. Both bike and camera appear to be unharmed. So I guess the camera passes another test. Good blackberry and apple crumble though.
