Noah goes hands-on with the mobile device creating some of the biggest buzz at CES 2010. LG’s GW990 is a Linux-OS smartphone powered by an Intel Moorestown ULV Atom chip. That’s like the power of a netbook in a touchscreen smartphone. PhoneDog at CES 2010: forums.phonedog.com Win Free Phones: www.phonedog.com More Phones: www.phonedog.com

i want
May 2nd, 2010 at 5:22 am
@firedjj Those are totally different. This screen is also resistive… no multitouch.
This thing is more a tablet phone or something. Sometimes i think… were are we going with our pocket devices. Will it be an all in 1 device in the future?? I would love that.. And that is probably what people want.

the only reason that it isnt running android is that at the moment android doesnt support the insanely high screen resolution. android would be a better os for this phone i think

Who the hell uses Video, Calender and Sms at the same time, unnecessary use of power. What’s the use of having that power on a LG OS, which still sucks and is largely unsupported by 3rd party developers.

this would win, big RAM, probably a fast processor, and 1 inch bigger screen.

I think you are left far behind of understanding today’s tech, or you are just one other ignorant!

Also, since you knew about these new phones, is there also going to be successor to the Nokia E90?
I am not talking about fake successors like the N97. I mean something real good like a true Nokia E90 sequel. I’m tired of people saying the N97 or N900 is the successor. That’s just stupid. Communicator is not a touch screen multimedia phone.

Finally a phone that prioritizes screen size over all other bloated functions. It can even double as a handheld computer like the vaio p or game console like the psp. Also, what is with the idiots on the net complaining about it not being pocketable? From the video, it seems to be the size of my tv remote control which, out of curiosity, fits snugly in my jeans and jacket. If it doesn’t fit you then upgrade some of your wardrobe. I would rather carry this than lugging a laptop to school anyday.

their hard ware is good is jus the lg s class system, but there is a question, Nexus one vs LA GW990 , who would win?

The screen is nice and big but I don’t like how it’s so narrow. I’m all for widescreen but add some width to the thing and it will be almost perfect.
May 2nd, 2010 at 10:45 am
It’s running on Intel Moblin 2.0 (Linux based), it’s just that LG put their awful S-Class UI on top of it to bog it down.
(Seriously, the regular UI makes it faster, and still looks better)

That operating system is baddd they need to redesign it maybe have smoother transitions. Have three homescreens one for widgets one as the menu and the third one as the multitasking screen example centre screen widgets swipe left multitasking screen swipe right from centre screen menu. Applications open over the three with the option of swiping left for multitasking and right for closing applications.
Done Lgs new operating system called trinity.
Zunehd phone please!!
